The Spanish Piscícola Charter is a project to update the national inventory of fish diversity and development and implementation of a database of Spanish fish. This project has been led by the Iberian Ichthyology Society (SIBIC) with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation, and has enjoyed the cooperation of the members of this organization who have provided information, knowledge and documentation to complete the Piscícola Charter. The importance of this project lies in the need to have updated the distribution of species that serve as a tool for researchers and managers in the development of monitoring plans and strategies for conservation of biodiversity information.
