One of the principal purposes of the Iberian Ichthyological Society is to permit the accessibility to data of ichthyological records for the public in general. In this way, researchers of the department of Environmental Biology of the University of Navarra (AMBIUN) have published the first big set of their data registered on the Carta Piscícola Española. The ichthyologic data of the University of Navarra have been published in the Global Biodiversity Information Facility (GBIF) for their open access and the reference of their metadata composes a datapaper in the journal Scientific Data of the Nature group (Rodeles et al. 2016). Scientific Data publish descriptor articles of data in open access, facilitating the diffusion, increasing the visibility and referencing correctly the origin of them.
